Description

Electric Soul presents a Gibson Les Paul Standard ’50s Mahogany Top.

This is a 2024 example in the iconic yet very unusual TV Yellow finish, mainly associated with Junior and Special models. On a Les Paul Standard, this is a rare choice that gives the guitar a look very different from the popular sunburst finishes. With black plastic parts and, as the perfect finishing touch, black binding, the guitar looks exceptionally original and offers an interesting take on Gibson’s history.

There is more to this guitar than its unusual finish. In this version of the Standard, the typical maple top has been replaced with mahogany. This is another reference to Gibson’s classic designs, specifically the 1950s Les Paul Custom models, which also featured all-mahogany bodies. The result is a very unusual version of the Standard, with several details that will be especially interesting to Gibson fans.

The rest of the specifications are pure traditional Les Paul. The guitar has a solid, non-weight-relieved body, a rosewood fingerboard, and a mahogany neck with a full, rounded ’50s Vintage profile. It is a substantial neck that should be particularly appealing to fans of traditional Gibson guitars. The sound comes from Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups with Alnico 2 magnets, inspired by the character of the original PAF pickups. Other features include hand-wired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors, an ABR-1 bridge, an aluminum stopbar tailpiece, and Vintage Deluxe tuners. This is a very traditional guitar, but in a decidedly unusual version.

The guitar looks excellent. There are a few very minor cosmetic signs of use, but its overall condition is really great. Technically, everything is also in excellent order. Everything works as it should, and the frets show no signs of wear.

The guitar weighs 4.12 kg.

Comes with the original case and all original paperwork.
