Description
Eletric Soul presents a special Scheerhorn Figured Maple resonator guitar with
a round neck. The instrument was made by National Reso-Phonic Guitars in San Luis Obispo, California, based on a license from the luthier Tim Scheerhorn. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he introduced many important innovations to resonator guitars and helped set new standards for their design.
Compared to classic Dobro-style guitars, this model has several key differences:
an L-body shape with a larger air volume, solid wood construction instead of laminate, and an open resonator chamber (without the traditional ring, but with specially designed internal supports). Together with hand-made cones, these features create
a more modern sound that is less metallic than traditional Dobro instruments.
Because of this, the guitar has a smoother and more balanced character. It is easier to use for players who are not specialists in resonator guitars and works well in modern music. The round neck version, made for normal playing position, makes the instrument very versatile for acoustic guitarists who play more than just lap-style or old blues, although the classic resonator sound is still clearly present.
The guitar looks amazing. The beautiful maple grain, shiny chrome parts, ebony fingerboard, and striped binding create a luxurious, high-end instrument. It is one of the most visually impressive guitars we have ever had in our shop. It is a real pleasure to offer an instrument like this.
The guitar was made in 2019. Its visual and technical condition is excellent. It looks almost like new and is fully functional.
The set includes a high-quality original hard case and documents from the manufacturer.
A new instrument costs about $4500 and is very hard to find in Europe.
