Electric Soul presents the Ibanez JS700. This is a 1996 model, the first year of production, made in Korea.

This guitar is probably the most unusual model from the entire Joe Satriani signature series. On one hand, it has a smooth body shape and a fast neck, typical features of a modern superstrat. On the other hand, it is surprisingly close to the classic vintage guitar style, especially the classic Gibson guitars from the 1950s.

You will not find the typical basswood body, tremolo bridge or powerful humbuckers often found on superstrat guitars. Instead, the JS700 comes with classic P90 pickups, a stylish Short Stop II wraparound bridge inspired by old Gibson guitars, and a mahogany body and neck.

It is a very interesting combination of two worlds – the modern Ibanez philosophy, known for great playability and precision, with the classic look and organic character of vintage Les Paul-style guitars.

This is also connected with Joe Satriani’s early musical influences. He has always liked Gibson Les Paul guitars and occasionally used them even later in his career. Perhaps with the JS700, he wanted to combine some of that classic character with the modern Ibanez design.

Apart from being an interesting and unusual guitar, the JS700 is also a rare model. Not many examples were made, and it is not a guitar you can easily find for sale at any time. For anyone looking for something less common, this can be a very interesting instrument.

The guitar is 30 years old, so there are some small dings and minor scratches, but these are only cosmetic. Technically, everything works perfectly. The guitar is fully functional and ready to play. The frets are in excellent condition.
